Gin Kings locals stepped up big time and caught a big fish in the B-Meg Llamados, 89-85, to move up for a tie for second place in the PBA Governors Cup before a large Sunday crowd at the Araneta Coliseum. Ronald Tubid topscored for 20 points, Mark Caguioa 19 and Erik Menk, Willy Wilson and Billy Mamaril combined for 37 points as collectively they rallied back the Kings from as much as a 12-point deficit in the first half and then held the fort in the stretch run when the Llamados made one final push to turn the tightly-fought game around.Wilson and Caguioa accounted for all the Kings points in a short, but telling 8-4 run that broke the game's final deadlock at 79, and put the league's crowd darlings in front to stay, 87-83, entering the final two minutes of play. The Kings won for the second straight game, for a (4-2) win-loss record and a tie for second spot with the Tropang Texters and the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters.
